Walkington

Privacy Policy

Effective September 5, 2026

Walkington is operated by Stay Fit Apps LLC (“Stay Fit Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and is designed to keep your walking history private. This policy explains what the Walkington app and website handle, why they handle it, and the choices available to you.

Information handled by the app

Location and route data

With your permission, Walkington uses precise location to record a walk, show your position, match your path to streets, and provide route guidance. Recording may continue in the background while a walk is active. Your saved routes, completed-street history, and local map-matching results are stored on your device and are not uploaded to Walkington servers.

Motion and Apple Health data

If you enable these features, Walkington uses motion data to count steps and can read step history from Apple Health. At your direction, it can save completed walks or runs as Health workouts. Health data is used only to provide app features. It is not used for advertising, sold, or shared with data brokers.

Photos, video, and audio

If you use story features, Walkington accesses only the media you select or capture. That content is processed on your device and remains there unless you choose to export or share it using iOS.

App settings and identifiers

Preferences such as goals, reminders, onboarding choices, downloaded cities, and an installation-scoped random identifier are stored on your device. The identifier contains no name or contact information.

Optional analytics

Walkington uses Firebase Analytics to understand basic app usage and improve the product. When analytics is enabled, Google may process an app-instance identifier, app and device information, approximate location derived from network information, session information, purchase events, and coarse events such as completing onboarding, starting or finishing a walk, or viewing the paywall. Walkington does not send Firebase your route coordinates, saved routes, street or city names, step counts, Apple Health data, selected media, email address, or referral code. The app uses Firebase’s Analytics configuration without advertising-identifier support.

You can turn analytics off at any time in Walkington’s Privacy settings. Turning it off stops future analytics collection and resets the local analytics identifier.

Subscriptions and referrals

Apple processes App Store purchases. Walkington uses RevenueCat to display products and manage subscription access. RevenueCat may receive the installation-scoped identifier, app and device information, product identifiers, purchase status, and subscription events. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy.

If you choose to use a referral feature, Walkington may send your referral code, installation-scoped identifier, and redemption status to the referral service so it can prevent duplicate redemptions and award benefits. The referral feature will not send your saved walking routes.

Website information

If you join a waitlist or nominate a city, we collect the email address and city you submit. The site also creates a random browser identifier to prevent duplicate city votes. We use this information for the requested launch update, city planning, and abuse prevention.

Our hosting providers may process standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamps, to deliver and secure the site. We do not use this information for targeted advertising and do not sell personal information.

Sharing and service providers

We share information only with service providers needed to operate Walkington, including Apple for platform services and purchases, RevenueCat for subscriptions, Google for optional Firebase Analytics, and our website hosting and database providers. These providers handle information under their own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect users, the service, or others.

Apple Maps and other Apple system services may process map requests under Apple’s privacy policy. OpenStreetMap contributors supply offline street data; Walkington does not send your saved route history to OpenStreetMap.

Retention and your choices

App history stays on your device until you remove it or delete the app. Health records are controlled through Apple Health. You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings or the Health app.

We retain waitlist and city-nomination information until it is no longer needed for those purposes or you ask us to delete it. Subscription records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their policies and legal obligations.

To request access to or deletion of website or referral information, email hello@walkington.app. Include the email address you submitted so we can locate the record.

Security, children, and international use

We use reasonable safeguards, but no storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure. Walkington is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires parental consent at a higher age, a parent or guardian must provide it.

Our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, they use measures intended to protect information during international transfers.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Walkington changes. We will revise the effective date and provide additional notice when required. Questions or privacy requests for Stay Fit Apps LLC can be sent to hello@walkington.app.
